Urban Tarka Indian Kitchen Papakura

We went for lunch here to celebrate a little something . The food was good and portion size was great. We ordered pani puri which was not so great but paneer tikka was very tender… loved it. The quantity of paneer tikka masala for mains was also good. Drinks were ok. But, the service was very slow especially considering there were customers only on 2 tables. There was only one guy taking orders and serving as well so it took really long for our food to arrive.

The food was very tasty and the portions were generous. Staff was very friendly. Highly recommended and will be back again when in the area.

We had an early dinner - a by accident selection of Urban Tadka. And, we were so glad to find ourselves in that restaurant as we thoroughly enjoyed the dishes - maha ki daal, goat handi, Missi roti, garlic naan. Exquisite in flavour, and full some in portion. And the surprise - main courses come with rice - so we had to pack for home. The Indian experience was complete with the quintessential 'Indian' beer, Kingfisher, all the way from Bengaluru - (a brand I personally keep miles away from, but ordered in the hope of it being brewed in NZ/Australia). My highlight: the server had a jar of water and two glasses ready as we were directed to a table. Now that's Indian hospitality. We loved Urban Tadka, period.

Best meal out we have had in ages!! The meal was amazing... We ordered Murgh Makhni and Shikari Paneer Tika with a naan bread... Strongly recommend both those dishes!! Just beautiful!! The staff were really nice, kind people with genuine interest in their customers. Prices were surprisingly decent for the generous portions too! Definitely going back next time we are in Auckland... We have found our 'spot' now! Everything I look for in a good restaurant! Thanks so much guys!!

Ordered online for delivery through their website. They definitely followed our requests for no onion, and spice levels, so thank you! The butter chicken was lovely and spicy but I feel the depth of flavour was missing somewhat. I'd love some more smokiness and spices. The lamb korma was so beautifully tender and delicious. The naans were thin and lacking the cheesiness I like, but had plenty of garlic. They gave us an extra rice which was nice The samosas had good flavour and lovely pastry, and the paneer tikka was nice and smoky. The mango lassi were very small for $7, and the straws are very thin so they're hard to drink out of. All together it was a lovely meal and we would definitely eat with Urban Tarka again. Thank you!

Came in with my family for the first time this evening for dinner…the service was really great and fast, they looked after us really well and the restaurant had a nice warm vibe to it.. tried a few cocktails - they were only $14 and they tasted amazing, pina colada was my favourite! Food was authentic Indian and my sister said it was the best butter chicken she’s ever had so much flavour!…also the goat curry meat was super tender and had great spice to it. Will definitely be back for our next family night out…yummy!!!!

Love this place. All the food items are good but if you go there to have enter don’t forget to order their chicken makhanwala… best dish of all. And thanks singh bai ji for making it my way
